Morphology (Palgrave Modern Linguistics)

An introduction to contemporary morphological theory and analysis in generative grammar, this book contains in-text exercises which involve the reader in "doing morphology" by analyzing data from English and other languages. The book is divided into three parts. Part one surveys traditional notions of word-structure which remain fundamental to morphological investigations. Part two explores the relationship between morphology and phonology in current generative grammar, while part three highlights issues in the interaction between morphology and syntax.
