Immunology of Liver Transplantation

Interest and expertize in liver transplantation continues to increase and is reflected in the growing number of transplant units performing either re-sections or whole liver transplants. Surgical technique is, however, well understood and the majority of problems that arise develop from immunological complications such as tissue typing rejection and opportunistic infection. It is therefore of the highest importance that the clinician understands and is able to control these hazards. This book provides a balance of science and clinical practice for researchers and clinicians working, or about to embark on work, in the liver transplant unit. It combines basic science and clinical information related specifically to liver transplantation.
