Officer Zaria Fuentes is a very zealous person and goes beyond the call of duty to prove herself as a female officer to be able to move up in the ranks. Drew Grissom is her partner and wants more than a friendship with her but keeps those feeling to himself. He has her back and she thinks it's because she is a woman. She gets a new assignment that involves a former friend who has turned ddirty. Drew manages to get involved to have her back and to protect her at all costs. Things heat up and she finds that she has deep feelings for him too but is afraid it will interfere with their jobs and her heart plus lose her best friend.
