The Law (1980)

The Parkinson's Law has achieved a Newtonian stature in the world of businessmen and bureaucrats. That 'work expands to fill the time available' and that in consequence organizations increase in size regardless of their useful output is now generally perceived to be as inevitable as the laws of gravity. In the intervening years an increasing body of evidence has only confirmed the correctness of Parkinson's original insight.
