Mormons at Home: With Some Incidents of Travel from Missouri to California, 1852-3

From the preface: "In the summer of 1852 my husband received from the President an appointment for the territory of Utah, which he was induced to accept. Unwilling to be separated from him, for the length of time he must necessarily be absent, under circumstances involving much anxiety for his safety, I determined to accompany him. We accordingly journeyed to Salt Lake, where we spent the winter; and, in the succeeding spring, returned home by way of California. . . . Yielding to the suggestion, that these incidents of travel and impressions of Mormonism may be interesting to the public, I have, with some hesitation, given my letters to the publishers.
