This colour atlas has been compiled to illustrate and describe comprehensively both the common, and less common but important, oral and maxillofacial disorders and lesions encountered in the infant, child and adolescent. The more important syndromes which have orofacial features are also included. A description of the normal appearance of the oral cavity and face at a particular stage of development starts each main chapter, and permits the comparison of the abnormal oral structures presented with the normal or variations of normal. The conditions illustrated include congenital abnormalities and syndromes, endocrine, neurological and dermatological disorders, conditions associated with oral mucosal disorders, dental abnormalities, infections, traumatic injuries and benign and malignant tumours.
