This book examines recent experiences of populists in government in Italy and Switzerland where three very significant populist parties - Forza Italia/Popolo della Libertà and the Lega Nord in Italy; the Schweizerische Volkspartei in Switzerland - have served in government for most of the current decade without, apparently, softening their rhetoric, moderating their policies or suffering significant vote losses.
