This manual has been designed for overseas doctors as a guide to English as it would be used in everyday situations in hospitals. It includes details of colloquial language needed or good doctor/patient communication, idioms, descriptive langauge used when taking case histories, the language of dentistry and drug addiction and medical abbreviations. There are ALSO guidelines on letter writing with examples provided. This edition includes details the new structure of the NHS and new colloquialisms, plus information on postgraduate training in the UK.
