Mechanics of Materials and Structures (Studies in Applied Mechanics)

Papers presented at the Bierniek Symposium in conjunction with the MEET'N 93, First Joint ASCE-ASME-SES Mechanics Conference at the U. of Virginia, Charlottesville, June 1993. The volume is divided into four sections. The first deals with topics on the mechanics and damage of concrete, along with two papers on granular packing structure changes and cumulative damage in polymers. The second section deals with more theoretical topics in mechanics such as shell theory and nonlinear elasticity. In the third section, topics dealing primarily with plasticity, viscoelasticity, and viscoplasticity are discussed, including such topics as dynamic and cyclic plasticity.
