The content of this edition is arranged so that all basicinformation is contained in the first part of the book, which isnow rewritten and simplified in order to make it more accessibleand used as a textbook for undergraduate students. More advancedtopics, of interest for postgraduate levels, come in the subsequentparts.

This updated second edition focuses on experimental techniques,including a comprehensive chapter on physical methods for theinvestigation of electrode surfaces. New chapters deal with recenttrends in electrochemistry, including nano- andmicro-electrochemistry, solid-state electrochemistry, andelectrocatalysis. In addition, the authors take into account theworldwide renewal of interest for the problem of fuel cells andinclude chapters on batteries, fuel cells, and double layercapacitors.
