Overview of the subject includes what a grassland is; where grasslands are found; what kind of grasslands there are; what animals and plants live there; why grasslands are under threat, and much more. Each spread is headed with a question which is answered in the main text. Each spread has a fact box, which highlights key concepts relating to the main theme. Full colour illustrations and photographs bring the subject to life. This work also contains an 'Amazing Facts' section; a glossary to explain new words used in the main text; an index and questions and answers that refer the reader back to the text. It fits into the National Curriculum (KS2 5) 'Living things and their environment'. It also fits in with the QCA Scheme of Work for Science. It helps achieve the goals of the Scottish Standard Curriculum 5-14.
