Discovering Fiction, An Introduction Student's Book with Audio CD: A reader of American short stories

Authentic North American short stories enhance students' reading skills, language learning, and enjoyment of literature. Discovering Fiction, An Introduction introduces low-intermediate students to short stories written by classic North American authors such as Twain, Poe, and Hawthorne. The stories have been artfully simplified and abridged so that they are accessible to lower level learners. Each story is accompanied by extensive pre-reading and post-reading tasks that build overall language competence, develop reading skills, and teach literary appreciation.
