People Without Science

People without Science, by Marcelino Cereijido and Laura Reinking, addresses the crucial problem confronting the world today: the growing divide between the haves and the have-nots. Not, however, in relation to economics, but rather, in relation to science.

People without Science encompass most of the inhabitants of the Third World and no less than ninety percent of those in the First. Eager to enjoy the fruits of science while rejecting the worldview that science requires, People without Science strive to combine technology and theocracy. As a result, their illiteracy is causing--among other evils--a dangerous population explosion in the Third World, and bringing about democratic obscuration in the First.
