The Successful Internship: Transformation and Empowerment

In this text. the authors describe the experience of the internship process using the stages of anticipation, disillusionment, confrontation, competence, and culmination rather than taking a chronological approach of how to find an internship, how to interview, the first day, and so forth. Students learn to understand that one's internship is an individual experience, the result of a complex interaction between the individuals and groups that make up the placement site and each individual intern.
