Description
Booker 2 focuses on the murder of a doctor's wife in a Midwestern town. A local lawyer who is also a teacher at the town's community college undertakes the defense of the doctor who is accused of the murder. The defense is complicated by the fact that the doctor has not spoken since the death of his wife. The reactions of the town's people as well as the lawyer's students to the murder and trial develop varying attitudes concerning the murder, the death penalty and judicial proceedings. The lawyer's past and present life circumstances with his handling of the doctor's case. The routine as well as unexpected events are used to present the story. Although the characters were initially developed in Booker City, the initial offering of the writer, Booker 2 stands alone as it concerns the subject matter and issues presented.
