With long personal experience from the pioneer days of missiles and space, underwater simulation adventures at St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the electronic revolution the author tells of his struggle to complete an engineering education. Longer in its timeframe than Homer Hickham's Rocket Boys/October Sky, and containing elements of The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe, Brooklyn, Buck Rogers and Me is written in the tongue-in-cheek anecdotal style of another Brooklynite, Sam Levenson.
