Better Than Cookies! As Good As Cake!

Four young friends form a string quartet and discover that the music they play is in fact better than cookies, as good as cake. The book introduces young children to the instruments within a string quartet through lively illustrations and musical concepts. In celebration of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra's 75th season, the book's author, KSO cellist Stacy Miller, loosely based characters on her colleagues from the KSO. Used in the orchestra's Story Time Program, the book has become a favorite among pre-kindergarten students, with the children agreeing that music can be "Better Than Cookies, As Good As Cake."
