The Guardians

In an alternate history, Citizens of the world draw power from the Sun and other natural sources; there's never been a hole in the ozone layer, man has never split the atom and widespread war is a distant memory. All this and more are a result of mysterious beings known as 'The Guardians of the Way' who have curbed the destructive tendencies of humanity since the dawn of time. Shinta is the daughter of the engineer responsible for developing a tool the world has never known: modern firearms. When the Guardians mobilize to annihilate this new threat, she discovers that firearms may be more than a simple tool, but a mass weapon designed to destroy Life. Shinta's left with a choice: avenge her father, fulfill his legacy by using firearms against the Guardians or forsake everything she has ever known and loved. Ultimately, Shinta faces the staggering question that humanity, without oversight, may be destined for one thing alone: destruction.
