In 1970, two couples set off around the world on their trips of a lifetime. From a chance meeting at a hotel in Bali, another on the palace grounds in Bangkok, again in a Kathmandu restaurant; from a peak moment in Burma, to a denouement in Isfahan, their adventures and lives intersect and entwine, full of joy and challenge, destruction and growth.
