LOL: love out loud

I can barely claim a quarter of a century’s worth of experience, but from all that I have observed these words are incontrovertibly true. I am no master of love, nor will I ever be, but I have come to find that it never conducts itself how one wants, thinks, or expects it to. It has been the best thing in my life, and sometimes the worst thing – my saving grace and my siren. It has made me grin until I could no longer feel my cheek muscles, and has made me want to pull out every last hair of my already-thinning mane. Sometimes I’m still a little delusional, assuming that I can manipulate or trick love into working out exactly the way I want it to, but I’m beginning to accept its absolute unpredictability and the vast spectrum of heavy emotions that goes with it. I’m sure I’ll never understand it. All I can do is join the dance and keep the first aid kit handy. What follow are my personal musings, experiences, and observations of this ever elusive concept, however that may be interpreted. This is what love has brought me thus far.
