Motivators of University and College Leaders in the Integration of Sustainable Practices

Today, as our society faces economic and environmental crises, educational institutions occupy a strategic position to assist in solving these predicaments, by carrying out research and offering teaching in sustainability literacy. However, only a small portion of the total number of colleges and universities in the United States has fully pledged their educational organizations to environmental and sustainability practice and literacy. What are the perceptions of sustainable development by university and college members with a leadership role who accept sustainability in teaching and practice? What are the drivers motivating university and college members with a leadership role to support sustainability?
