As a financial advisor it is my job to safeguard my clients' money and at the same time give it every opportunity to grow. This can be a delicate balancing act for some advisors, filling their hearts, minds, and client portfolios with anxiety and fear. They and their clients ride a daily emotional roller coaster as they chase the market. Other voices out there try to paint convincing pictures of financial triumph and big gains. Some may even tell you how easy it is and how "anyone can do it". Though I'm sure there are exceptions to every rule, armchair quarterbacks are not the kind of people you hand the ball to when the outcome of a big game or your financial future is on the line. There are still others who treat investing like a form of legalized gambling, constantly searching for the next jackpot growth fund or real estate development, hungry for an influx of wealth that will finally insulate them from the winds of financial reversal. Sadly they all are caught up in a maelstrom of their own making and it all has to do with perspective. How we see things influences our every decision and colors our judgment.
