The teaching of radiological assessment is a crucial element of general surgical training and forms an important part of postgraduate examinations.

This book covers all facets of surgical radiology with a strong emphasis on plain film x-rays and the abdomen. Plain film radiography is a relatively inexpensive and widely applicable investigation and is therefore a vital tool for surgical diagnosis. The book also covers barium examinations of the upper and lower GI tract, CT scans and basic urological, orthopaedic, ENT and neurosurgical cases. Some coverage of simpler interventional radiology (angiography, stenting etc.) is also provided.
