Driving the Light Horse: Training for Pleasure and Competition

The first three chapters are devoted to the elements of driving - horse, equipment, and elementary training. The fourth chapter prepares the driver to take the reins. The six remaining chapters take a look at specialized areas of driving, including the breed ring, antique carriage competition, and harness racing. The unique emphasis on each different field can be an aid to understanding and improved performance by individual drivers on their "home ground," be it a backyard pleasure drive or a combined driving event. The author's fine-line drawings and the more than 100 photographs she selected go a long way toward showing what is so special about driving - here and abroad.
