Protectionist Case in the 1840's (Reprints of economic classics)

The decade of the 1840's in England was one of "free-trade" ferment culminating in the successful repeal of the Corn Laws. Generally obscured by that successful agitation was the economic case made for protectionism--including the concept of steady Imperial trading, under reciprocal advantages and with an assured market--which is objectively recounted in this study.
