Description
This is not your typical history book. It is one inspired Black man’s commentary as to why history in general and Black history in particular are important. It relies of hundreds of historical examples to make the point that history is an important part of our lives. Baba Lankford Bolling’s bold assertions may offend some and will certainly enlighten most. It is an honest interpretation of history from which all readers could benefit. The purpose of this book is to: Explore why history is important based on its practical, everyday uses and purposes. Examine the psychological effects of history on our behavior (how we think, act and speak), why we need it and how it applies to the lives of people in general and for Black folk in particular. Provoke thought and to stimulate interest in understanding the necessity of critical thinking and research. Lankford Bolling, Jr. was born on June 9, 1948 in Princeton, N.J. In 1966, he graduated from Princeton High School and matriculated at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., where he graduated in 1971, with a B.S. in Psychology.
