You Arrested Me for What?: A Bail Bondsman's Observations of Virginia's Criminal Justice System

This book calls into question some of Virginia's established criminal justice laws and procedures.  Dan Barto, a Virinia bail bondsman, makes a case against established procedures, such as suspending driver's licenses for failing to pay fees and fines and putting defendant's through punishment before being found guilty. The latter topic calls for a scathing takedown of the pretrial services lobby. His arguments, backed with documentation, are also peppered with personal experiences and anecdotes for illustrative and entertainment value.

Lighter topics are also included, among them are sex-for-bail, and the fleecing of inmate's families by local government and calling card companies for the inmate's phone calls.
