On the Third Hand: A Festschrift for David Josephson

On the Third Hand is an eclectic collection of musicological texts, reminiscences, tributes, and musical compositions dedicated to David Josephson on the occasion of his retirement from Brown University. The volume is divided into two sections: David s colleagues and David s students. Included in the book are original musicological works by luminaries of the field such as Stephen Banfield, Michael Beckerman, Karol Berger, Richard Taruskin, Jeff Todd Titon, and Neal Zaslaw. David inspired all those around him, and this book is a small token of gratitude.
