Day Care: Surgery Anaesthesia and Management

This book looks at day care surgery which has increased rapidly over the last 20 years due to mounting economic pressure by government and a change in hospital policy promoting rapid post-operative mobilization. Day care units now cope with at least 30 per cent of all surgical procedures with a potential saving of millions of pounds and this book looks at anaesthetists, on whose enthusiasm and dedication the success of these units will often depend. The book is intended to assist them to establish a unit, point out the pitfalls and to interest and encourage those already working in the area.
