Judaism offers a concise and interesting account of the development of Jewish art from the formative times of Judaism to the beginning of the twentieth century. The book examines the link between art and religion in the ancient world. It discusses the relationship between Judaism and art in the light of the Second Commandment, and demonstrates that Judaism's supposed antipathy to art is not supported by Jewish sources or by or by archeological or other historic evidence.
