Beardsley (Colour Plate Books)

Hardcover art book featuring the work of Aubrey Beardsley (1872-1898). He was one of the most talented and influential artists that England has ever produced. He died at a tragically early age, but not before his work had received great critical acclaim and had influenced a whole generation of artists. He worked mainly in pen and ink as a book illustrator, raising what is usually considered a minor art to the very highest level. This carefully chosen selection of his drawings illustrates all his major commissions, as well as a number of his unique and beautiful designs for book covers.
