Lost in Time: Teacher's Resource Book: Year 7 (This Is History!)

"This is History!" is the Schools History Project's radical new Key Stage 3 scheme of work for National Curriculum history. Through a combination of depth and development studies it offers: a varied, relevant and challenging diet for the whole Key Stage 3 history programme of study; a history-based approach to teaching citizenship; practical classroom-trialled techniques for developing pupils' literacy; and, a thinking skills approach to deepening and assessing historical understanding. "Lost in Time" is targeted at Y7. The Pupil's Book uses an innovative enquiry-led approach to: provide an overview of the KS3 National Curriculum; examine the key turning points of the last 1000 years - the Black Death and the Peasants' Revolt, the Reformation, and the Industrial Revolution; and, develop pupils' ability to find, organise, select and deploy historical information. This Teacher's Resource Book supports all the activities in the Pupil's Book through carefully designed writing frames, homework tasks and assessment advice, as well as offering detailed guidance on how to use "Lost in Time" as part of a comprehensive course.
