Description
Fostoria, Ohio, was formed in 1854 with the merger of Risdon to the north and Rome to the south. It was named after Charles W. Foster, a local businessman who served as the townís first mayor. A town of 15,000 in northwestern Ohio, it is known around the world for its many railroads and, at one time, many glass factories including the well-known Fostoria glassware. ÝÝThis book is the second in a series of two that contains historical articles about Fostoria, Ohio, written by Paul H. Krupp for The Review Times newspaper from 1977 through 1989. At the time of the articles appearance they were ìthe talk of the town.î Volume One featured the railroads and was released in the spring of 2001. Volume Two features the Glass Era and is released in conjunction with the Bicentennial of the State of Ohio (1803-2003) and the Sesquicentennial of the City of Fostoria (1854-2004). Both titles include over 100 vintage photographs to compliment Paul H. Kruppís popular writings. ÝÝ
