The Story of Mr. Sommer

A boy's village childhood with all the traditional attributes - family, tree-climbing, a bicycle - is bedeviled by the mystifying appearances of Mr Sommer. Moving silently through the landscape, with his empty rucksack and walking stick, he runs like a black thread through the boy's days.
