Summer Awakening

A long hot summer in the Pentecost house promises the usual mayhem. Gaylord manages to persuade his mother to allow Christine, a German au pair, to stay. With the help of the pretty fräulein he discovers his awakening interest in the fairer sex. Momma notices that other people seem to appreciate Christine’s teutonic charms too, while ten-year-old Amanda falls hopelessly in love with Gaylord’s friend, Roger. Before long, Gaylord is wishing the heady days of summer would never end, while for Momma the first hint of autumn cannot come soon enough.
