📖 Description
This is an epic poem about King Alfred's defeat of the Danes in 878. It does not claim to be historical and is just to emphasise tradition. He deals with the popular aspects of the Alfred story. These include Alfred playing a harp and singing in the Danish camp, of him meeting a woman and burning cakes. He deals with the Crusades.
