Jane Goodall has spent more than 30 years studying chimpanzees in Africa and is the world’s leading authority on this primate species. She has written numerous books detailing the life stories of many of the chimpanzees she has observed, and her work has helped us understand just how much we have in common with these cleaver, social animals. Her research and teaching have helped us know how to better care for our share of Earth. For more information on chimpanzees and other animals, read Animal Kingdom, another book in the Mission: Science series.
