Correctional Counseling: A Cognitive Growth Perspective shows students how to address a correctional client’s needs during imprisonment and how to prepare clients for release into the community. Using the cognitive growth model to examine the major issues in correctional counseling, this text covers the counselor roles, work settings and challenges, offender classification and assessment, counseling processes, and intervention/therapeutic techniques.
