Without attempting to enter into the subject of the origin of Masonry, respecting which there are so many and diverse theories; it is unquestionably the fact that the greatest impetus was given to the Society by the revival of 1717; and by its subsequent establishment as an organized association under the control of governing bodies, known as Grand Lodges. This volume contains the various statutes, regulations, institutes, laws and Grand Constitutions of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. Most of the text is written in Old English.
