Pipeline Engineering and Construction: What's on the Horizon

The 119 papers in this proceedings discuss state-of-the-art applications, including new technologies and products, in the field of pipeline engineering. The papers were presented at the Pipelines 2004 International Conference, which was held August 1-4, 2004, in San Diego, California. 'What's on the Horizon', the conference theme, is a comment on the changes that are challenging pipeline engineers as they move forward in the 21st century. As pipelines provide a vital service, concern for the safety and welfare of the public have always been a focus.
