Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership; Workbook

This workbook accompanies a three-in-one development programme video designed to help non-profit boards and staff strengthen their leadership team. A facilitator's guide is also available. In Module One, "Lessons in Leadership", Peter Drucker presents inspirational portraits of five great leaders, showing how each brought his or her own strengths to the task. Accompanying exercises are designed to help participants identify their own particular strengths in leadership. Module Two, "Identifying the Needs of Followers", focuses on the key leadership task: inspiring followers to extraordinary performance. Exercises in this module invite participants to recall their own experiences with leaders who inspired top performance and identify the key lessons they learned. In Module Three, "Leading Through Mission", Frances Hesselbein examines the leadership role of the board-CEO team. Participants learn from a case study how one board-CEO team worked together to craft an inspiring and effective mission and imbued it throughout the organization. Exercises help participants to look afresh at their own missions.
