This book fills the gap after commissioning through to the operation and maintenance of pipeline systems, covering pipeline metering, pumping and compression. It is designed to impart know-how to operation and maintenance personnel while providing and in-depth coverage of the subjects that often pipeline engineers face in the assessment of operation and maintenance tasks and techniques. Pipeline reliability/availability assessment is also presented, thereby providing a rational step in assessing pipeline risks, reliability and availability from a technical as well as business point of view. Based on the author's collective experience totaling some 80 years, the book is augmented by technical research and other sources. The book is intended for experienced professionals, as well as new entrants to the pipeline industry, and can be used as a practical training tool.
