From the opening scene, 15-year-old Tallulah has a way of sticking her foot in it that would make less sturdy souls crumble. Blessed with an almost superhuman resilience, however, she manages to turn things right again and again. Loaded with humor and sweet romance, this romantic comedy will keep you laughing, while plucking at your heartstrings.Â

From the book:One of the guys pointed frantically behind me. "Outside!" I think he shouted.
Outside? Outside what?
I turned around. Oh . . . outside.
As in, here comes a tidal wave from way outside.
I spotted Jenna in her sky-blue wetsuit paddling up the monstrous wave. Then, like an ant crawling over a log, she disappeared over the top.
"Paddle!" someone screamed from the beach.
I struggled to get on my board. Wow, was it tiny. And wobbly too. It corked sideways. Thrashing, I managed to throw a leg over and force it under my stomach. It kind of sank a bit. Then it popped out again.
"How do you work this thing?" I howled.
Straight ahead, the sickening wall of water towered higher and higher; grey and deadlier than anything I'd ever seen. I froze, unable to move, unable to scream, and stared in horrified fascination.Â
