After being physically assaulted in her apartment building for no apparent reason by a woman employed by the building’s management office, Corine Shields decided to retain an attorney, believing in the power of the law of the United States to enforce her rights for recovery of damages. Little did she know she was in for the battle of her life – not with the woman who attacked her, but with the attorney she retained to pursue her claim on her behalf!

This is her story, for no matter what she did – including reporting him to the ethics committee, retaining a second counsel to assist her in her attempts to bring suits against both her assailant and the first attorney, and finally going to court not once but twice when she loses her right to sue her assailant due to her first attorney’s delaying tactics – she ultimately achieved little success, leaving her bitterly angry with the unfair, unethical, and unlawful actions of someone she trusted.
