Musings: Meditations on Scriptures

All one needs to do is to take a look at the wonder of nature that surrounds us to be reminded of God’s awesome power. But in reality, it’s so easy to get discouraged, so easy to get caught up in the little things and forget about what’s truly important.

Patricia L. Powell knows this fact very well, having found her religious conversion relatively late in life. But that doesn’t hinder her ability to impart His teachings, promise, and love for us. Musings: Meditations on Scriptures are “mini sermons” taken from her radio ministry broadcasts from 2000-2003.

Each bite-size “musing” takes a look at a current topic – holidays, daily events, personal issues, the seasons – and expends upon it, tying together both Scripture and the sights, sounds, and experiences common to our everyday lives. Wrapping up each one with a concise prayer, these thoughtful explorations remind us that no matter how in control we think we are, it is God – in his infinite love, power, and presence – who is the cause of every one of life’s circumstances.
