ISO Certification, Coming of Age

An investigation on ISO Standards in the medical device industry, Dr. Arthur J. Ward presents his study of small to medium-sized companies and why they have chosen (or not chosen) to be ISO certified.

''Many of these companies have been trying to determine if the cost and commitment to achieve ISO certification is offset by the benefits that result.'' Ward's study of American companies in this industry indicate there is indeed a perceived value in ISO certification, whether it is viewed as a requirement to sell in other countries or to improve product quality.
