Living in what many theologians refer to as a post-modern Christian era, perhaps the most pressing issue mainline Protestant churches are facing across America today is a dramatic decline in both membership and attendance since the mid-1960s. While many programs and initiatives have been promulgated over the past four decades to enhance the vitality of mainline Protestant congregations, many of these churches unfortunately continue to experience significant decline. This reality is bringing many believers to the realization that there is a need to embrace a new model for ministry that will foster renewed vision and hope for Christians everywhere who claim the Reformed heritage of faith and witness.
