It's true -- you can complete each of these charming projects in two hours or less! Most designs are so versatile you can use them in a variety of ways, on pillows, wall hangings, banners, book covers, quilt cards, and small quilts. Start with the designs of Debra Crabtree-Lewis such as Carrot & Bunny, Showman, Basket of Posies, Watering Can, and Christmas Tree. Then try the work of Kathy Distefano-Griffiths: Nine-Square Yo-Yo, Harvest Pumpkin, Patchwork Heart. Next comes Emily Dinsdale's Buttercup, Stuffed Bear, Honeycomb, and Blackbird Pie. Finally, Rebecca Carter's Morning Rooster and Trick or Treat Box. And there are 96 more! Before you start, you get basic instructions on equipment, using 12 different stitches, and choosing fabrics, threads, and battings, as well as tips on the motif patterns and placement diagrams: how to enlarge, trace, and attach them to the quilt backing. Step-by-step instructions for assembly cover layering and stitching, finishing, adding hanging straps, decorative button and bead accents, and yo-yos (circular-shaped decorative fabric accents). Special techniques include blush painting, gathering, painting on fabric, sponge painting, and stenciling.
