Knowledge-Based Nontraditional Engagements with CD ROM (2012 Edition)

Knowledge-Based Nontraditional Engagements has been designed and developed to incorporate the most recent professional standards and guidance for the conduct of nontraditional engagements and to integrate the use of nontraditional engagement practice aids, tools, and other resources within its guidance. The Guide is organized into 15 chapters that provide complete and concise guidance on conducting (1) examination-level, (2) review-level, (3) compilation-level, and (4) agreed-upon procedures attestation engagements over both financial and non-financial information, as well as certain consulting services engagements. This Guide implements, to the extent practical, the concepts from the AICPA risk assessment standards in the conduct of examination and review level attestation engagements, by placing a premium on practitioner judgment in the assessment of and response to attestation risk, and the documentation of the engagement approach and results. The Guide focuses on conducting nontraditional engagements in accordance the attestation standards and consulting standards of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Moreover it includes a chapter that discusses all the professional standards that could be applicable to such engagements, including those of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), the Governmental Accountability Office (GAO), the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). The practice aids, forms, illustrations, checklists, and other engagement tools are included to provide practical guidance on meeting the specific professional requirements in an engagement performed in accordance with the AICPA's Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) and Statement on Standards for Consulting Services (SSCS). The practice aids are included on the enclosed CD, and they can be modified to fit the specific needs of engagements and clients.
