Knowledge-Based Nontraditional Engagements, 2012-2013

Knowledge-Based Nontraditional Engagements has been designed and developed to incorporate the most recent professional standards and guidance for the conduct of nontraditional engagements and to integrate the use of nontraditional engagement practice aids, tools, and other resources within its guidance. The Guide is organized into 16 chapters that provide complete and concise guidance on conducting (1) examination-level, (2) review-level, (3) compilation, and (4) agreed-upon procedures attestation engagements over both financial and non-financial information, as well as certain consulting services engagements. This Guide implements, to the extent practical, the concepts from the AICPA risk assessment standards in the conduct of examination and review level attestation engagements, by placing a premium on practitioner judgment in the assessment of and response to attestation risk, and the documentation of the engagement approach and results. The Guide focuses on conducting nontraditional engagements in accordance the attestation standards and consulting standards of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
